Dogs can sniff out cancer

Michael McCulloch of the Pine Street Foundation, California, and Tadeusz Jezierski of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw studied whether dogs can detect cancer by sniffing the exhaled breath of cancer patients. They found evidence that a dog's extraordinary scenting ability can distinguish people with both early and late stage of lung and breast cancers from healthy control subjects, science portal Science A Gogo reported.
