Hero dog, owner on national TV
While walking his dogs one evening earlier this month, Bill Burns, a type one diabetic, collapsed in a field.
His yellow lab Dusty laid on his chest to keep him warm. Black lab Butch held a lit flashlight in his mouth. Around the time of Burns' collapse, Deputy Hoffman pulled a woman over for speeding. He noticed the light shining in the field. His quick observation and the work of the dogs saved Burns's life. more >>

Deaf dog learns new tricks to find a home
"Blue's deafness meant staff could not train him with voice commands in the usual way, so they have taught him his own special form of sign language. He knows seven signed signals and commands, his favourite of which is the thumbs-up sign, meaning 'good boy'."
